Who We Are

Way back in 1981 was when CHRISTUS Health (formerly Sisters of Charity Health Care System) began caring for military beneficiaries as a part of the Uniformed Services Treatment Facilities. In 1993, we, along with other US Family Health Plan programs around the country, became the first government-sponsored managed care plan - the Uniformed Services Family Health Plan (US Family Health Plan) and enrolled our first members.

We have grown since then to now serve the healthcare needs of almost 13,000 military beneficiaries in southeast Texas and over 90,000 families nationwide. From the beginning, members believed that the US Family Health plan was a good plan and demonstrated this with high member satisfaction ratings. Since then, the response to the quality of care and service has been overwhelmingly favorable, with member satisfaction ratings of 88% this year, a rating significantly higher than the industry standard. This shows that people really appreciate the way they are treated and, likewise, we're proud to serve those who have served!
